Contemporary Wedding Flower Trends
Weddings are such unique events where flowers play an important role in transforming the ambience of the occasion. Weddings are not always led by fashionable trends, but they tend to follow slowly. The tradition of carrying an all white bridal bouquet of flowers is alleged to have started off with Queen Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert in the year 1840. She had worn orange blossoms and carried snowdrops, which was Prince Albert's preferred flower. Even at those times, wedding trends were powered by the preference of individuals in the glare of publicity.
The most requested colours this past year have been dreamy sweet creams, soft pinks, lilacs and a bit of orange for the more daring brides. Wedding bouquet design is constantly evolving along with current fashions and trends. Different colours and types of flowers seem to go in and out of favour. Brides are opting for more compact bouquets with sometimes just a single dominant flower or colour following after celebrity brides like Chelsea Clinton. I believe the bridal bouquet must reveal the pattern and design of the wedding dress and should not challenge the dress. All the wedding flowers represent the bride's feelings and individuality. Accordingly, the bouquet is planned and designed to be exclusively hers. Just because the wedding bouquet is petite does not mean that it necessarily has to be ordinary. So what are the current popular trends in wedding bouquet design? Here is what brides are talking to us about at the moment.
